Tucked into the Nilgiris, MILN Town is a heritage estate in Coonoor where time moves differently — unhurried, deliberate, steeped in the scent of tea and mist.
In 1800, a planter built a house in the Nilgiris to be alone with the mist. He succeeded. Two centuries later, the teak floors still creak in the same places. The pendant lamps still cast the same amber. The view from the verandah is, improbably, unchanged.
Three rooms. A kitchen garden that determines the menu. A staff who know which chair faces the best light at each hour of the day. There is no itinerary. The hills suggest their own.
